The Charge Robotics Team is broken into focuses and departments.  Each team member is assigned to a department for Focus 1 and Focus 2.  Focus 1 departments include the technical departments of Design, Fabrication, and Software and the non-technical department of Branding and Marketing.  Focus 2 departments include Business, Outreach, Scouting and Strategy, and FIRST Lego League.  Read more about each department below.

Design and Fabrication (DAF)  is responsible for the design and build of the robot. After developing goals for the robot, DAF creates a digital model of the prospective robot using a CAD (Computer Aided Design) software called OnShape. Once the CAD is finished, fabrication begins. DAF is also responsible for the electrical aspects of the robot and works alongside the Software Department to ensure the robot is competition-ready.

Software is responsible for developing the code for the robot using command-based Java. The Software department enables the robot to move and score in a match's Autonomous and TeleOp parts.  The software department is also responsible for researching and testing various electronic components such as motors, sensors, and vision for the robot.

The Branding and Marketing Department (BAM) creates the team's identity, logo, and visual style and spreads the word about the team's projects and achievements. They handle social media, websites, flyers, newsletters, buttons, banners, and t-shirts.

The Business and Outreach department secures sponsorships, fundraises, and manages finances to keep our team running. Outreach initiatives include hosting FIRST LEGO League events, providing robot demonstrations, and expanding STEM opportunities—like launching Unified Robotics in our region.

The Scouting and Strategy department develops strategies for what our team's robot should do based on game analysis and team capabilities. They also create a scouting tool to collect and analyze data on other teams at competitions, helping us identify strengths, weaknesses, and potential alliance partners. By studying match performance and developing game strategies, they ensure that Charge Robotics competes at the highest level.

The FIRST LEGO League department helps organize and host FIRST LEGO League (FLL) events, giving younger students a hands-on introduction to robotics and problem-solving through fun, interactive challenges.
